William Gantt is a partner in the firm and has defended civil cases in both state and federal courts throughout Alabama for almost 30 years. His trial work and representation include the following categories of cases: general liability and insurance defense, workers’ compensation and other labor issues, employment disputes, insurance coverage disputes and bad faith, premises liability, personal injury defense, automotive accident defense, and nursing home litigation.
Since the beginning of his trial practice in 1981, he has consistently received an “AV” rating, the highest or preeminent rating from his peers within the bench and bar in Martindale-Hubbell surveys. He has also been named one of Alabama’s Best Lawyers by LegalForce Publications and listed in “Birmingham’s Top Attorneys”, Birmingham Magazine. William is a popular speaker and writer about both legal and civic topics of importance to clients and Alabamians. His speeches have included appearances at the Mercedes-Benz plant near Tuscaloosa, the Selma Rotary Club, the Emmett O’Neal Library of Birmingham, and the Downtown Rotary Club of Mobile. His articles have been published in the ADDENDUM and THE ALABAMA LAWYER, two statewide publications of the Alabama Bar.
